Got It Bad by Keith Urban

When I listen to this song, I get these pictures in my head.

Keith very young, broken hearted and driving in his car.He gets to the highway and stops, looking both ways he is trying to decide which way to turn, the sun is rising and he wants to turn back to the love thats has let him go.

He drives on, arriving at a roadside diner and goes inside for a coffee.Nursing his coffee and his broken heart he is asked by a waitress why do you look so sad. After telling her, she offers him comfort. After she finishes her shift at the diner,he picks her up in his car they go to the lake. The moon is shining on the water,he doesn't even know the girls name.He knows he shouldn't be here with her but tonight he will try to get over his lost love any way he can.Tomorrow he will move on.

Early Keith Urban

I love to listen to Keith's early songs,"Got It Bad" and"Only You" are favourites of mine.In "Got It Bad" he hits the very high notes right at the end,he has an amazing range.I don't know much about music in that respect ,but would like to know if Keith's range is normal. He also surprised me in the song"I hear you Knocking",he yodels. That's the only time I have ever heard him yodel so I guess it's not a preference of his.

The version of "Blue Stranger"Keith did for his album "Keith Urban 1991" was originally recorded by Paul Kelly. Keith sounded like the"Aussie"he is, as he had yet to adopt his "twang" which came out in future songs after he had been in the States for a while.

Over the years Keith's voice has matured so much,I sometimes find it hard to realise that "Once in a Lifetime"and "Got it Bad" are sung by the same person. There are a lot of his early songs that I have never seen on youtube and by chance they are from the 1991 album Keith made in Australia.

Some of these songs such as,"Only You","Got it Bad","Yesterday"and "Hold on toYour Dreams" in their origional form or as reworks would be a treat for lovers of Keiths early music.

ps Not forgetting "The River"

Whats in the book?

With the bio of Keith Urban about to hit the bookshops on monday 5th jan, there is a lot of speculation as to whats in the book.

Will it be a true account of the rise of Keith Urban or will it be a glitzy account of his latter years in the US with NK.

As I am ready to swoop on my local bookshop next week,I am hoping it is going to be packed full of everything "Keith"(being the Keith addict I am, I just cant help myself) I read everything I can find about him and his music.

I will keep you posted about "The Book" as soon as I have read it.
